About me

Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in the Linguistic Department of the Faculty of humanities and social sciences, University of Zagreb, while working as an Early Researcher for the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project CLEOPATRA, Cross-lingual Event-centric Open Analytics Research Academy, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network. Previously, in 2019, I received my master's degree in Computational Linguistics from Sorbonne University in France. Before changing my career path to Natural Language Processing, I have worked as a chemical engineer for 10 years in the cosmetic industry.

My research

My research concerns the development of Natural Language Processing Chains (from Tokenization to Dependency Parsing) with focus on under-resourced languages from the European Union. The objective is to understand how different machine and deep learning approaches deal with specific linguistic features of different languages, also considering the limitations in terms of available data, to propose optimized solutions. My Ph.D. research is under the supervision of Dr. Božo Bekavac (FFZG) and Dr. Marko Tadić (FFZG).
